Two of Holy City Hospitality’s restaurants, Virginia’s on King and 39 Rue de Jean, served some Lowcountry favorites this past weekend at the 24th annual John Kresse Invitational. John Kresse, former College of Charleston basketball coach, joined golfers for an all day event out on The River Course at Kiawah Island. The specialty event began at 9:30 with a light breakfast, where golfers could start practicing on the range and putting green. Following this the coaches mingled amongst the players, then shotgun began at 11 am.

Players could choose from several packages, like the $2,000 package including gameplay for four, 8 mulligans, a gift package for each player, breakfast, cocktails, and dinner. Another package was $500 and suitable for one golfer, which included the golf game, 2 mulligans, a gift package, breakfast, cocktails, and dinner. A third and final option simply encouraged donations to the John Kresse Invitational.

After golfing, dinner was provided by Holy City Hospitality and awards and prizes were passed out. Participants of the event enjoyed a day of building friendships and connections while supporting College of Charleston athletics. The money raised from this event goes to the Cougar Club to assist with student athlete scholarships.
