Social Media Coordinator Job Description


A Social Media Coordinator is responsible for managing social media marketing and advertising efforts for the company’s individual brands, as well as the corporate brand as a whole, through various outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TripAdvisor, Yelp, Snapchat, Mailchimp, etc. The Social Media Coordinator optimizes brand awareness within each digital platform to ultimately drive business, increase sales, and generate positive engagement.



  • Implement a content calendar to manage posts and submit to supervisor for approval on a bi-weekly basis
  • Maintain social media presence across all digital channels and create/publish relevant, original, and quality content to reach the company’s target demographic
  • Design posts to support follower engagement and create a “buzz” around new items or promotions
  • Determine respective sales goals for relevant events and plan/implement specific and timely social media marketing campaigns to achieve those goals
  • Track key social media analytics on a monthly basis, create analytical reports, monitor trends, asses ROI, and identify ways to improve engagement while adhering to a set monthly budget
  • Foster social media relationships that generate PR opportunities for promotional content value, media exposure, and real time interaction with followers
  • Manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation, monitor online reviews, and respond to each review in a timely manner
  • Forward leads/messages/reviews received from digital outlets to their respective recipients
  • Work daily with supervisor and maintain open lines of communication with the company’s various managers
  • Contribute content ideas for projects such as blog posts, eblasts, website architecture, and digital outreach to reinforce SEO efforts and grow online traffic/increase sales
  • Assist with online/digital platform maintenance through various outlets
  • Support supervisor with marketing related events, promotional materials, and day-of preparation
  • Recognize brand identity, attend marketing events, spend real time in the company’s various businesses, and  capture current events to merchandise on the company’s digital media outlets


  • Capacity to perform under tight deadlines and schedules
  • Ability to write, create, edit, prioritize, and deliver creative content
  • Proven experience in social media marketing or digital media outreach
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM, keyword research, and Google Analytics
  • In depth understanding of current online marketing strategies and channels
  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or Public Relations is welcome but not required with relevant experience
  • Food & beverage knowledge a plus
  • Expertise in Adobe, skilled photography, and videography experience required
  • Experience with WordPress, MailChimp, and Hootsuite a plus
