Only 10 days after Americans celebrate their own independence, the French celebrate Bastille Day. Also known as French National Day, Bastille Day is a holiday to commemorate the anniversary of the Storming of Bastille, a turning point in the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération, a day of unity in France that occurred the year following. Be sure to join us at both 39 Rue de Jean in Savannah, Georgia, for French celebrations for the books!
Traditionally Bastille day is celebrated with the three F’s: Fireworks, Fêtes (Parties), and feasts. At Rue de Jean, we may not have Fireworks, but we have the other two F’s covered!
