Halloween may be over, but that doesn’t mean the costumes have to end! Join 39 Rue de Jean and nine other restaurants on November 7th for the Secret Savannah Speakeasy event hosted by Savannah Food & Wine Festival and the Georgia State Railroad Museum. Come dressed for the Prohibition era as you drink and dance your way through the evening.
To provide the necessary 1920s energetic vibe, Fellowship of Love will be performing danceable jazz and funk classics all night long. There will be plenty of space to try out your best renditions of the Foxtrot, Charleston, Shimmy, and any other style of dance that moves you.
Between dancing, be sure to take full advantage of the available food selections. All of the participating restaurants will be serving their best speakeasy eats, including 39 Rue de Jean. Our Chef de Cuisine Ben Beasley will be serving up three different kinds of oyster shooters: tomato, horseradish, and shallot; coconut milk, lime, and shaved ginger; and balsamic vinegar, honey, and black pepper.
This event will also be the finale for the Savannah Food & Wine Festival’s annual Bartender’s Challenge. The best mixologists in the Savannah area will all be present and vying for the title of Savannah’s best bartender. You won’t want to miss their hand-crafted cocktails and the opportunity to vote on your favorite for the People’s Choice Award!
At the time of writing, there are ten restaurants participating in this event (subject to change). In addition to 39 Rue de Jean, the vendors will include the following:
- Lucky Rooster
- La Scala Ristorante
- Halyard Restaurant Group
- Noble Fare
- Local Pie
- Whiskey Room
- The Sea Pines Resort
- Circa 1875
Tickets are available now on the Savannah Food & Wine Festival website for $80 per person, and each ticket grants you access to as many cocktails and bites as you want. Be sure to grab your tickets before they sell out, and we hope to see you on November 7th from 8 to 10 pm dressed in your best 1920s-themed outfits!
