It’s no question as to why Eat It & Like It Restaurant Week is coming to Savannah, as the food and hospitality scene is on the rise. From January 10 – February 2nd, restaurants around Savannah are opening their doors to regulars and newcomers to come try out their limited time menu specials for Eat It & Like It Restaurant Week. Our team at 39 Rue De Jean couldn’t be excited to have put together a special three course meal for their guests this month.
For the first course, guests have the choice between Soupe A L’oignon with traditional French onion soup, caramelized onions Gruyere crouton and sherry, or Salad Bretonne with Brittany salad, Kachina Farms organic greens, Roquefort, toasted pecans and apple cider vinaigrette. The appetizer options seem endless with additional selections of Champignons Trois Facons with swampy appleseed mushrooms served either meuniere, crispy and lemon aioli, or Rouleau De Savannah which is a Savannah sushi roll served with crab, avocado, Day Boat fresh fish and Tobikko. The palatable goodness doesn’t stop there – you are just getting started!
Up next, a second course that sticks to 39 Rue De Jean’s American-French themed exquisite dishes. Your choices for this course include a Petit Chateau in a bacon wrapped bistro fillet, butter poached Kachina Farms root vegetables, white truffle potato puree and finished off with a demi-glace, or Coq Au Vin, which is described as red wine braised chicken hind quarter, bacon lardon, vegetables and potato puree.
If you are already having a hard time deciding, it only gets tougher, as there’s still two more options for your second course.
You also have the option between Truites Aux Amandes with crispy skinned trout, haricot verts and potatoes or a vegetarian option called Cassoulet Vegetarien, which is made up of lima bean cassoulet, brie, Kachina Farms organic root vegetables and wilted greens.
We hope you save some room after your second course, because the following choices for your last might just be the best ones yet for dessert fanatics of your group. For your third course, you have a choice between a traditional Eclair with pastry cream and chocolate ganache, Creme Brulee, or Sorbet A L’orange Sanguine with blood orange sorbet.
