Beaujolais Nouveau Day Celebration!

39 Rue de Jean Savannah restaurant interior

With the Savannah heat beginning to recede and November upon us already, 39 Rue de Jean is getting into the holiday spirit. The holidays come early in France, and we’re embracing our French heritage with our annual celebration of Beaujolais Nouveau Day!

Beaujolais Nouveau Day is a wine celebration that takes place throughout France and ushers in the first batches of wine from the most recent harvest season. Participants commemorate the official end of the year’s growing season by indulging in the fruits of French vintners’ labors. In the Beaujolais region, there are as many as 120 related festivals, the most popular of which lasts for five days!

Beaujolais wine is unique in both process and flavor. While many people assume that the older the wine is, the better, Beaujolais is a fresh and fruity red wine that has a very short fermentation process and is typically consumed within a year. As Beaujolais Nouveau Day celebrates the conclusion of the harvest, the grapes are only fermented for a few weeks before being enjoyed by wine lovers worldwide.

Beaujolais Nouveau Day is annual event here at Rue, and it sells out quickly for good reason! On Thursday, November 15th from 5-10 pm, guests will enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres from stations set up within our restaurant and on the patio. We are also in the thick of oyster season, so we’ll be having an oyster roast of grand proportions on our outdoor patio! Last but certainly not least, tickets provide attendees with 2 glasses of the famous Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau wine! In the words of our General Manager, J.G. Curry, “this festive occasion is a must-do, nightlife event this fall in Savannah!”

Tickets are available now for $39 per person and you must be 21 or older to purchase. Don’t miss out on this delicious French celebration – get your tickets today!
